Reporting to the Project Director, this position provides support for the development and implementation of educational programs. This is a complex job as it supports a very demanding, growth-orientated unit. Normal work hours are 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional work during nonstandard hours to facilitate program and conference set up, opening operations and closing. These hours could include early mornings, late afternoons, evenings and weekends.Project ESTRELLA II is funded through Title III of the U.S. Department of Education, and administered through the ESL (English as a Second Language) and Bilingual Education program within the College of Education and Human Services. This grant provides training stipends and scholarships for teachers pursuing ESL and bilingual education licensure, as well as support for bilingual reading specialists, special educators, counselors and principals. Project ESTRELLA II began in May 2012 and will continue until 2017. This project also involves special projects dealing with math and science, networking with rural districts, workshops at school districts, workshops for parents, administrators, and university faculty, and a yearly institute.


Job Duties

-Participate in regular planning meetings with project co-directors to provide input regarding potential budgetary issues, data collection, event planning and registration. -Assist with program marketing and track the program participation process for grantees involved in the ESTRELLA grant. -Oversee work of student workers in the grant office. -Coordinate pre-program registration, room assignments and communication with internal and external offices. -Reconcile fiscal accounts for program closure. -Participate in program evaluation. -Maintain office files -Track up-to-date member and sponsor files, maintaining confidentiality.
This is not a permanent, on-going position; however, this Project Appointment position is eligible to receive the same wage and fringe benefits as a permanent, non-represented classified employee. This position is not expected to last beyond 5/20/2017.

-Knowledge of database software, such as, MS Access or PeopleSoft to collect, retrieve, and report data
-Ability to report and maintain budgets
