Summary:  Responsible for developing plans and strategies to achieve sales and cost goals in the C&I market and execute the action plan to achieve the assigned objectives.  Responsible for market segment bookings, monthly status reports and growth plans. Maintain the pulse on the C&I market, understanding growth factors, forecasts, product demand and global supply. Demonstrated effective communications skills including written, verbal and presentation abilities. Provide effective leadership for this market segment, providing direction, accountability and coaching to subordinates. Possess a broad understanding of the C&I market with experience selling to customers in domestic industries such as paper, steel, cement, and oil and gas markets.

 

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

 

  1. Develop short and long-term sales targets for the C&I market.
  2. Determine the marketing support required to achieve the strategy and goals and maintain staffing levels and coordinated development of personnel.
  3. Develop and communicate an action plan to reach sales levels and cost targets – identify opportunities, plan rep organization to support the sales plan; prepare annual budget for staff, expenses, and rep commissions.
  4. Support the customer for long term business growth, resolve disputes and facilitate full collection.
  5. Schedule and manage the sales activities of assigned sales manager, sales personnel and field reps to ensure satisfactory performance of the section. 
  6. Establish sales territories, quotas and goals as appropriate and advise sales personnel, manufacturers reps and other appropriate persons.
  7. Review sales statistics and other market analysis and trends to determine customer needs, volume potential, pricing parameters, and develops sales campaigns or strategies to accommodate sales goals of the Company.
  8. Coordinate liaison between sales and other sales-related areas, such as engineering, and represent the Company at trade association meetings.
  9. Ensure timely quotation service to customers within assigned markets, including but not limited to:
    1. Obtain quotation request from customers in assigned markets and maintain a system of tracking and securing quote information; ensuring that quotes are timely, accurate and responsive to customer needs increasing the likelihood of favorable contract awards and repeat business.
    2. Interpret and clarify customer specifications, provide support for resolving customer issues and ensure that each customer experience exceeds their expectations.
    3. Determine strategy, price parameters and commercial terms, in accordance with overall Company policies.
    4. Secure orders from assigned markets to meet sales budget and needs of the business.
  10. Engage in all necessary order closing activities within assigned markets, including customer visits and all daily selling and negotiation activities to meet assigned goals and objectives.
  11. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

 

Accountability:  Reports to the Director of Sales.

 

Compensation:  $120000-130000 USD.

 

Position Specifications & Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Twenty (20) years sales experience in large industrial product, five plus years’ experience selling in the US C&I market (paper, steel, cement, and oil and gas markets etc.)
  • Experienced having led and managed small groups including internal sales representatives, sales managers and external sales representatives.
  • Understanding of industrial manufacturing processes.
  • Thorough industry knowledge and in-depth understanding of power/electrical equipment marketplace – established relationships with C&I customers in heavy manufacturing.

 

Preferred:

  • Sales leadership experience in transformer/related industry.
  • College level instruction in sales/marketing disciplines or business management.
