JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
Analyzes and designs computing applications addressing business requirements, using common software development processes. Develops, programs, maintains, and integrates computing applications.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Other duties may be assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
* Designs, codes, tests, documents, and installs software routines, modules, and programs of a moderately complex nature.
* Applies software engineering standards, processes, and techniques in assigned tasks.
* Participates in the analysis of customer requirements.
* Investigates, analyzes, and resolves system problems. Applies testing disciplines and oversees tasks to verify application system quality and functionality.
* Schedules and plans assigned work. Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Leads the successful completion of non-complex projects.
* Participates in design reviews, influences design selection and implementation, and trains and guides less experienced personnel.
* Working knowledge that enables an interface to be created between a new application and a specific component of an existing application.
* Participates in the transition of developed software into production following standardized configuration and change management controls.
* Participates in the development and documenting of disaster recovery requirements for specific systems.
* Follows pre-defined backup procedures for new application; participates in the development of backup procedures when they don't exist.
* Schedules and coordinates implementation of changes with all affected organizations for non-critical system changes.
* Respectable working knowledge of specific system functionality and how it will be used by end-users. Implements defined technology to support business needs of organization; viewed by specific manager/unit as knowledgeable.
* On-call for critical applications moved into production.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or Experience
Four-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required. Equivalent work experience is defined as 5-10 years or greater in the Information Technology field.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Desirable certifications would include: Microsoft Development Certification, Lotus Development Certification, Borland Development Certification, Comptia Certifications, Project Management Certification.
