Position Summary:
This position provides clinical equipment services under the close supervision of TriMedx management. Duties include, but are not limited to, validation and inspection of clinical equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety, and proper operation. This position also performs planned maintenance inspections, calibrations, and repairs of general biomedical equipment. The BMET assists other technicians in the troubleshooting and major repair of complex equipment. Performs inspections and verifies inventory.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
Associates degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent military training required upon date of hire.
Three months experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment preferred.

Complex computer skills including the ability to interpret error codes, defragment hard-drives, replace power supplies, and interpret computer codes required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and networking applications required. Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Valid drivers license required; variable travel requirements depending on primary site that may require use of personal vehicle.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Technical Certification (CBET) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs.
Frequently required to reach, pull, and/or employ fine motor skills.
Frequently required to bend, crouch, kneel, climb, balance, or otherwise maneuver body.
Frequently required to operate tools/machinery that use hand and/or foot controls (e.g. drills, saws, electronic test equipment).
Frequently required to carry or lift items weighing up to 10 pounds.
Frequently required to sit in a stationary position.
Constantly able to communicate verbally and in written form.
Frequently able to detect and discern both loud and soft sounds such as phone calls and customer questions.
Constantly able to use hands and fingers to type, write, and file.
Frequently able to use near vision for viewing computer monitor and written materials.
Occasionally required to detect unusual odors that could indicate environmental issues.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee has minimal potential for exposure to blood, body fluids, fumes, or airborne particles, and sharp objects potentially contaminated with blood borne pathogens or other infectious agents.
May work more than 40 hours per week and be required to work non-standard hours when on-call.
Potentially exposed to radiation, noise, fumes, and/or gases in the hospital environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can exceed normal noise level at times.
