JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

Responsible for implementing individual and group activities based on the needs and interest of the resident(s).
 
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 
 

  • Escorts residents to scheduled day, evening and weekend activities within the ministry.
  • Assists residents during activities.
  • Attends and assists residents on ministry outings.
  • Implements plan of care in relation to activities as appropriate to the level of living.
  • Documents and manages Activity Daily Sheets for activity participation.
  • Participates in the organizing and scheduling of community events.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or requested.

 
Management Responsibilities:
This position has no management responsibilities.
  
 




JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:
 
Education and/or Experience
 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • 1-2 years experience working with the elderly
  • Minimum of two years unencumbered driving record required, preferably with an older adult, physically challenged population.

  • Exhibits well developed verbal and written communication skills, and is able to professionally receive and follow oral instructions in English.

 
 

  • Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress related to the position, function independently, having flexibility, consistency and professionalism.
  • Develops and sustains safe, positive and productive work habits.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all Via Christi policies and procedures.

 
            Technical Skills
 

  • Basic computer knowledge required. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.

 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
 

  • Must have a valid drivers license in the state which employed. 
  • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state which employed.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
