JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:
The Administrator shall manage staff; develop and adhere to organizational, operational and financial objectives; maintain legal and accreditation compliance; improve quality results; and sustain community involvement.   The Administrator functions as the licensed administrator to meet regulatory intent. 
 
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 
 

  • Responsible for the overall operation by planning, implementing, managing and adhering to established financial and residence goals.
  • Implement established resident care policies, personnel policies, and other operational policies and procedures necessary to remain in compliance with required laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Directs the DCS to evaluate and assess resident care; monitoring resident care for both social and functional status.  Recognizing functional limitations and directs the staff in developing health service plans, which address on-going assistance with nursing care and activities of daily living.
  • Perform the selection, development, management, and supervision of employees to meet the needs of residents and the community.  Continuously reviews productivity and efficiency of staff, recommends educational opportunities and provides training to employees to enhance their performance. 
  • Develop and maintain sound financial objectives by forecasting, budgeting and aligning monetary resources; developing strategic marketing goals, measuring results; initiating corrective actions; and minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Ensure that each residents right to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to lodge a complaint, are strictly enforced.
  • Ensure that adequate staff is employed to meet resident needs.
  • Ensure that the facility admits only those residents for whom it can provide adequate care.
  • Evaluate and implement recommendations from facility committees (i.e., Quality Assessment and Assurance, Safety, etc.)
  • Assure the public information describing services is accurate, fully descriptive, and is readily available upon request.
  • Develop cooperative relationships with the business community.
  • Resolve any conflicts or concerns regarding residents, operations, marketing, and/or staff issues. 
  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting operational data and financial expenditures to supervisor, governing board, medical director, and other professional and supervisory staff.
  • Will assume direct responsibility for all daily functions of the residence within limitations of certification and/or licensure as need arises.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or requested

 
Management Responsibilities:
 

  • Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, salary and budget administration, employee counseling and motivation, disciplinary action, organization of goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department.
  • Challenges Ministry Leadership teams to be creative and fluid in systems and programming development. 



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:
 
Education and/or
EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field required.
  • Licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator, Adult Care Home Administrator or complete a training course to be Certified as an Operator in the state which working.
  • Successful management experience in the senior care environment or similar discipline.

            Technical Skills
 

  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations and reimbursement.
  • Proficient in computer software programs, i.e. Excel and Word.
  • Ability to learn and master new technology.

 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
 

  • Must have a current Nursing Home Administrator or Adult Care Home Administrator license, with the capacity to obtain other licenses based on division needs for LTC/AL ministries with more than 61 residents.
  • Must be Certified as an Operator for AL ministries with fewer than 61 residents.
  • Must have a valid state drivers license.

  • Frequently required to carry or lift items weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to carry or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds for short distances.  Required to obtain assistance of another qualified employee when attempting to lift objects over 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to stand or walk.
  • Frequently required to sit in a stationary position.
  • Occasionally performs activities that require stooping, bending and reaching, squatting, balancing, and trunk twisting throughout the day.
  • Constantly able to communicate verbally and in written form.
  • Frequently able to detect and discern both loud and soft sounds such as phone calls and customer questions.
  • Constantly able to use hands and fingers to type, write, and file.
  • Frequently able to use near vision for viewing computer monitor and written materials.
  • Occasionally required to detect unusual odors that could indicate environmental issues.
