Job Description:
Position Summary: The PRN Floral Designer is responsible for working in the Floral Area of the St. Francis or St. Joseph Flower and Gift shop when the regular designers are on vacation and will also supplement the efforts of the floral designers during periods of high work volume. The PRN will work with floral design volunteers and in the absence of the regular designers will oversee and delegate work to volunteers assigned to the floral area.   The PRN designer will assist in seeing that floral stock levels are maintained at the appropriate level and that accurate floral pricing is maintained. Works in a collaborative manner with the florist shop specialist  buyer clerks and director. Demonstrates excellent teamwork customer service and floral design skills. Essential Functions:  Other duties may be assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.  Designs fresh and silk arrangements for customers in the shop and keeps the floral cooler stocked. Utilizes Metro delivery service for outside deliveries. Answers telephone within 4 rings in a polite and professional manner Accurately completes all floral orders according to established procedures. Processes floral wire orders. Places orders to floral vendors for flowers and supplies as directed by designer.  Works in a collaborative manner with the floral designer  specialist  buyer director and clerks.  Proficient in use of POS system and able to provide support or back up to volunteers on the registers as work volumes dictate . Provides excellent customer service and demonstrates teamwork with staff and volunteers. Provides guidance for floral design volunteers regarding correct pricing minimizing waste care of flowers and basic floral design.  Interacts with volunteers in a positive and helpful manner.   In the absence of the regular florist Processes Telefora charges and monthly reports for accountant in a timely manner to meet established deadlines.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.    Education and/or Experience: Associates’ degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school with two years previous experience in floral design displays and purchasing. Experience working with paid staff and or volunteers in a retail setting.
