Job Description:
Job Summary: The ADON is required to effectively educate monitor quality of care administer nursing policies and procedures according to standards of nursing practice state and federal regulations and Via Christi Senior Services guidelines. Essential Job Functions:Provide at all times the highest level of customer service to the residents of Via Christi Senior Services family members visitors other employees and volunteers. Work with the Director of Nursing COO consultants and facility staff in forecasting planning developing implementing and evaluating nursing services/programs for all aspects of the facility. Educate Assist Consult and Coach the nursing staff in providing quality care for the residents of Catholic Care Center. Effectively communicates policies expected outcomes and efficient work practices to all nursing staff. Markets the facility in a positive manner while carrying out tasks at work in the facility and in public. Works with the Director of Nursing COO consultants and facility staff in maintaining nursing budgets. Maintains nursing policies and procedures according to standards of nursing practice state and federal regulations and Via Christi Senior Services guidelines. Conducts daily rounds to monitor resident care. Monitors documentation on all admissions discharges and transfers of residents to and from the facility to assure appropriate care and compliance with state and federal regulations Orchestrates weekly new hire nursing orientation which includes administering TB tests and Hep B vaccinations. Will maintain documentation of all employee medical records. Monitors the quality of care provided to our residents for effectiveness and according to standards of nursing practice state and federal regulations and Catholic Care Center guidelines. Resolves quality issues within the facility by insuring that current processes are in place and being utilized. Implements new processes when necessary. Facilitates monthly QA meetings. Review minutes for follow up with areas of concern. Review quality indicators to identify trends or areas of concern. Provides education and training to nursing staff related to resident care according to standards of nursing practice state and federal regulations and Catholic Care Center guidelines. Oversees admissions process to insure prospective Medicare residents meet the qualifying criteria. Reviews MDS documentation for accurate and timely assessment and optimal reimbursement. Oversees documentation related to restorative program set up by Therapy department.
Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities The ADON must have a minimum of five (5) years experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital or skilled nursing home setting one of which having been in a supervisory capacity. The ADON must have excellent communication skills using patience tact cheerful disposition and enthusiasm at all time. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to the position and function independently having flexibility personal integrity and consistency. The ADON must perform in such a way to build good working habits and relationships among the nursing staff. Employee must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other department heads. The ADON is required to handle employees in a manner that assists them in their ability to function effectively. The ADON may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Such duties will be within the training and ability of the employee. Education/Certification The ADON must maintain a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas.
