Job Description:
Job Summary: The Director of Nutrition Services is required to assure meals are prepared according to menus and in accordance with Federal and State regulations. Assists the Dietary Consultant in planning menus taking advantage of Consortia agreements foods in season local availability and resident's requests. Order supplies keep records and account for expenditures. Responsible for developing and adhering to departmental budgets. Supervises the dietary staff including setting their monthly work schedules. Participates in assessing residents' needs and planning for their care in conjunction with the facility care planning committee. Essential Job Functions: The employee must be able to perform the following essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Work with the CEO/Administrator and Dietary Consultant in planning developing implementing and evaluating all aspects of the dietary services/programs. Responsible for developing and adhering to departmental budgets. Supervises the dietary staff including setting their monthly work schedules. Effectively communicates policies expected outcomes efficient work routines and possible work procedures to the dietary staff. Assure that meals and snacks are prepared according to the menus; that they taste good and are presented in an appetizing manner. Assure that meals are served to residents according to the physicians orders and in accordance to Federal State regulations and facility policies and procedures. Assure that all items needed to prepare foods on the menu are available to dietary staff. Assure that appropriate inventories of food supplies and equipment are available. Assure that kitchen equipment is clean in working order and available to dietary staff. Required to maintain a weekly cleaning schedule. Assure that all infection control procedures are maintained in preparation and storage of food and equipment. Participate as a member of the care planning team. Assures dietary compliance with goals and approaches set forth in the resident's care plan*. Maintain a current list of resident weights. Assures that progress notes and residents' plan of care are kept accurate in relationship to their weight status*. Not applicable in an Assisted Living facility Responsible for the selection and training of competent efficient caring departmental staff. Review and evaluates the dietary department's labor force and makes recommendations to the CEO/Administrator regarding recruitment wages and benefits attendance FTE's morale and efficiency. Maintain strict confidentiality of all resident and employee information. Assure personal and staff compliance with infection control personal protection equipment blood borne pathogens hazardous material handling and fire safety. Come to work in a neat clean uniform and consistently present a professional appearance.

Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities???????? A minimum of two years working experience in a food production setting.???????? One year of supervisory experience required.???????? Must have effective communication skills.???????? Able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to the position.???????? Function independently have flexibility and personal integrity. ???????? Must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and department heads. ?Education/Certification ???????? Must possess as a minimum a high school degree or equivalent. ???????? Culinary certification per state and federal regulations. ???????? Completion and certification from an approved Dietary Manager training course optional. ???????? CPR certification a plus.????? ??????
