Facilitate access into treatment for both the BH inpatient and ambulatory settings. Perform a variety of duties in order to assess and/or triage patient eligibility for BH services in both an inpatient and ambulatory setting. Duties include: assessment of need, eligibility verification, precertification,concurrent review, retrospective review and appeal process for patients admitted to the inpatient unit and/or ambulatory setting as well as maintaining a liaison with insurance providers, community mental health organizations and Waterbury Hospitals inpatient and ambulatory programs.

Qualifications:

• RN, CT license. BSN preferred.

• 1-3 years experience in UR/eligibility verification and BH field

• Experience in the use of DSM IV R/ICD / Demonstrated working knowledge of major psychiatric illnesses

• Must have basic computer skills and ability to access internet and other programs applicable to Waterbury Hospital procedures.
