SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Business Services Representative will work as part of the Workforce Solutions team and is responsible for assisting employers in recruiting skilled workers and finding solutions to their business challenges.
The Business Services Representative works under the supervision of the Executive Director with functional supervision by the Workforce Solutions Executive Director.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with employers to establish a single point of contact to provide solutions for employment and training needs, determine
- companies' requirements, and develop relevant tools such as jobdescriptions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers to stay abreast of current and future hiring and business needs.
- Explain to business customers how specific workforce services can be used to help develop a more competitive organization.
- Maintain existing business accounts while developing new accounts (particularly new business account in key industries).
- Answer business customers' questions about employment and training products and services.
- Select qualified applicants for referral to employers based on employer's preferences.
- Contact applicants to inform them of employment possibilities, consideration, and selection.
- Coordinate job fairs for local companies and/or local industries that have critical labor shortages.
- Participate as needed in off-site job fairs, career day events, workshops, seminars and other employment related activities representing the Local Area IV Workforce Centers.
- Assist with job seeker activities in the career centers of Local Area IV Workforce Centers as needed.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to new and existing customers to promote an awareness of the Workforce Centers, and raise awareness of workforce services offered by partners in the regional workforce system.
- Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations
- and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Maintain customer records using automated systems.
- Collaborate with colleagues to avoid duplicate contacts, and to exchange information such as selling strategies and outreach
- information.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
PREFERRED SKILL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
- Background/Experience in human resource management, economic development, or business to business customer service
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of State and Federally funded employment training programs
- Experience in administering workforce development programs
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to develop and maintain professional working
- relationships with management, co-workers, partners, employers and the general public
- Baccalaureate Degree preferred
