POSITION SUMMARY

The CT Lead Technologist is to provide quality patient care in the CT department. This employee is to provide leadership and guidance to the staff during daily workflow. As lead technologist this employee is to maintain communications with the Radiologists and Imaging Administrative staff as part of reporting procedure details and data for the CT department. The lead technologist will also be included in future planning for departmental growth as in budget, equipment, and procedures. Technologists are to complete rotational responsibilities in Quality Assurance and Management of the CT equipment and supplies. Technologists will follow all protocols established by the Radiologists and assist in updating the policy, procedure, and protocol manuals as required. All service calls and equipment issues will be documented and reported as soon as possible. This position has exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids. This position requires a majority of time standing and walking (up to 60%). Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 75 lbs is required when positioning patients and equipment (up to 30% of work time). This position requires patient care for all age groups: neonate (2%), pediatrics (4%), adolescents (5%), adults (40%), and geriatrics (40%).

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

ARRT, AR state licensure, and BCLS

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Five years of experience in a JCAHO accredited facility preferred, but not required. This position also requires current ARRT, Arkansas state licensure and BCLS. It is required to have current advanced registry in CT or obtain and maintain it within the first year after employment. As lead technologist communication, education, and computer skills are essential to be effective in this position.
