POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for preparing food according to approved menus, following recipes and having knowledge of cooking, measuring, and basic math skills acquired to adjust recipes according to established policies and procedures. Physical Demands: This position has exposure to extremes in noise and temperature, cleaning chemicals and equipment as normally related to food service production areas. Requires occasional bending, stooping, and stretching. Majority of time is spent standing for prolonged periods and/or walking both short and long distances (up to 90% of work time). Requires lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs. (up to 30 % of work time) and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. (up to 30% of work time is required).LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREDN/ASPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITIONPossesses knowledge of dietary practices and techniques at a level normally acquired through 2 years of food service experience or one year experience in the Nutrition Department. Good communication skills associated with successful completion of a high school diploma or GED; some college or culinary training is preferred. Language Skills: Must be able to read and/or write English and follow written and verbal instructions. Additional languages preferred.
