POSITION SUMMARY

Nurse Educator functions in the roles of expert clinician, educator, consultant, researcher and change agent/leader. In collaboration with the medical and nursing staff, the Educator monitors the clinical care of patients and provides clinical support to improve patient care and outcomes. Incorporated within each of these role functions, the Educator is a role model, patient advocate and cost effective practioner. The Educator assists in achieving patient satisfaction, quality of care, national patient safety, regulatory agency and budgetary goals. The majority of time is spent sitting/standing, and/or walking short distances, with occasional lifting, pushing, pulling of up to 100 lbs. (with assistance) and carrying of up to 25lbs. A culturally and linguistically diverse patient population is served including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics, with the majority being adults and geriatrics.


LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Arkansas RN License, BSN Required - CNS Preferred

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

The position requires a Bachelors of Nursing degree, CNS preferred and a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in an acute care environment. The Educator must possess the ability to communicate effectively. The ability to critically analyze, facilitate, conduct and disseminate nursing research.
