Job Description:
Under general supervision of the Child Life Specialist, participates in planning and implementation of Child Life Services. Includes appropriate developmental play, pre-procedural teaching, and play room activities. Assist children and families in preparing for and adjusting to the hospital environment through education and therapeutic activities. Works in collaboration with the Child Life Specialist.
Job Requirements:
Minimum knowledge and skills required: Knowledge of child and adolescent development, family dynamics and therapeutics play for children in the acute health care setting. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
Minimum education and experience required: Two years of relevant course work beyond the high school educational level. Healthcare Provider CPR required. Prefer one year of previous acute care pediatric hospital-based experience.
