Job Description:
Under general supervsion of the unit manager, participates in planning and implementation of Child Life Services. Program development, developmentally appropriate play activities, education and program evaluation are included in the Child Life Services Program. Participation in community health and safety promotion activities. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Implements creative and diversified play activities to meet the needs of children in the hospital setting. Assesses the individual needs of children to plan developmentally and therapeutically appropriate play activities and direct those activities making changes when indicated. Communicate with physicians, staff and families the philosophies and theories of child life.
Job Requirements:
Minimum edication and experience required:
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in child psychology or infant/child growth and development.
Knowledge of child and adolescent development, family dynamics and therapeutics play for children in the acute health care setting.
Licensure or registration required:
Child Life Certification
