Drilling Engineer Sr.
Job Location: Tulsa, OK
Job Description:
Reviews offset well data to develop well plan and AFE for simple to complex drilling and completion operations based on Geologic Prognosis. Bids equipment and services to optimize efficiency and minimize cost. Supervises drilling and completion foremen on a daily basis to ensure safe and efficient operations. Identifies operational concerns prior to them becoming problems. Arranges for equipment and services in a timely manner. Incorporates contingency planning into well proposals for Exploratory projects. Solves minor problems with little to no supervision. Consults with Drilling and Completion Manager on more complex and/or higher risk issues. Designs casing strings for all well types from simple to deep, sour, directional projects. Supports permitting group in APD process in a timely manner. Performs post appraisals on all major projects, including recommendations for performance improvement. Tracks cost and operational efficiency on a day to day and trend analysis basis. Compares AFE to Field Estimated to Booked well costs and uses this analysis to create next generation AFEs for core producing areas. Supports quality input of field data into Dims database and runs queries for analysis from same. Works closely with geologists, production engineers, landmen and field operations personnel. Supports district drilling groups as requested. Manages and measures alliance relationships. Directs Drilling Technician on many day to day tasks. POSITION WILL BE FILLED AT A LEVEL COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 3- 5 years drilling experience. Must possess proficient skills in verbal and written communication. Sustain fast paced environment, strong organizational skills. Ability to work well with a team.
