Business Development Project Manager

Job Location: Calgary, AB

Shift: Full-Time

Job Description:
Responsible for providing the necessary engineering and project management for BD and technical coordination leadership for projects relating to the Canadian Assets. Projects will range in complexity and anywhere from $100,000 to $100,000,000.

Key activities include:
* Identifying engineering solutions to optimize assets including recommendations on how to deal with design capacity for approved projects with consideration for projects still in development
* Project implementation responsibilities overseeing the engineering contractor(s), tendering, managing the capital and operating cost estimates, setting the budget, tracking commitments, expenditures against the budget, managing schedule/plan, selecting and managing the construction contractor as well as all health, safety, environmental and regulatory issues related to the project
* Maintaining the technical health of all existing facilities
* Ensuring compliance with certain regulatory agencies such as AEP, ABSA, AEUB, APEGGA, ASCA
* Promotion and enforcement of safe work practices
* Management of Canada capital program
* Risk assessments on all aspects of projects including level of engineering not consistent with Project Life Cycle, construction, resource etc.
* Ensuring compliance with internal work processes such as PLC and MOC

Qualifications:
* A university degree in Engineering, P.Eng (preferably Chemical/Process)
* Minimum 10 years working within Midstream or Upgrading/refining industry (Oilsands preferred)
* Minimum 5 years doing Project Management on facility projects
* The individual must completely understand the difference between owner project management and EPC project management and have a complete preference for working on the owner's side. To that end, the individual must be comfortable relating technical solutions to business goals and vise versa.
* Must have an understanding of economics as it relates to engineering projects
* Experience working on the commercial side of a business a definite asset
