Job Description:
Web Yoga has partnered with Cary, North Carolina company to find and qualify candidates for their Data Architect position. This position exists to provide architectural guidance to the Management development team. This person will collaborate with the various PM development and product management teams to establish realistic application modernization and integration plans for existing and newly acquired products to capitalize on current and new customer expectations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development and creation of a comprehensive application modernization strategy in support of the overall business direction that will accommodate the product integration needs as determined by working with product management and customers across all markets and geographies.
- Responsible for managing and achieving application modernization and integration strategies through collaboration with management and technical teams. Provide management as appropriate for US Small Law Practice Management technologies to achieve strategic goals.
- Key input into product strategy budgets.
- Work closely with the management and the technical leads to target and pursue efforts that will maximize reuse and portability of underlying technologies utilized to deliver desktop and web products to customers.
- In addition to the management team, act as a technical conduit for new ideas to be evaluated and proposed for implementation.
- Provide support for technical activities including technical assessments, architectural designs, prototyping, and other general consulting as needed.
- Keep executive management informed of technical trends which impact the business and create opportunities both internal and external.
- Act as a roving troubleshooter capable of being applied to mission critical issues that arise. This will require the ability to code and have a working understanding of the principal technologies being utilized to deliver desktop and web products across different groups.
- Identify and manage the evaluation of potential technologies that could have a positive impact on the kind or speed with which products are engineered.
- When acquisition targets are identified, participate in the technical due diligence process to evaluate technologies used and how they may be modernized as well as integrated with other PM products.
- Active participation in technology organizations both inside and outside organization for networking and information gathering opportunities.
- Participate in the budgeting process for the implementation of these application modernization and product integration strategies.
- Coach, mentor and develop architect talent across the PM Group.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- BA or BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills
- 7-10 years experience including product development.
- Analytical problem solving skills
- Experience with C++, .NET, MS SQL Server and related technologies in both desktop and web based applications involving design and troubleshooting in a Windows environment.
- Ability to function within ambiguity and drive situations to clarity.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Excellent technical know- how combined with business acumen
- Able to communicate effectively with end users as well as product engineering.
- Able to communicate effectively with senior management both internally and externally
- Project coordinator skills.
