POSITION PURPOSE
Provides assistance and education of all aspects of the Wichita Clinic billing process to all customers/patients who inquire. Corrects billing errors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists patient in education of billing process and billing errors.
Enters correction adjustments into computer.
Arrives patient.
Support Registration functions.
Support account inquiry.
Check referral status prior to day of arrival and communicate with appropriate practice for updated status.
Confirm co-pay status prior to day of arrival.
Take all payments and post to appropriate account.
Verify, enter and update insurance.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
Expedites complaints regarding charges and/or services to the Patient Account Department.
Take all payments and post to appropriate account.
Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma and/or GED.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of cash handling protocol.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Prefer one year patient account experience in a medical or clinical setting, to include, assisting patients in education of the billing process and billing errors and entering correction adjustments into the computer.
10-key and multi-line phone experience.
Previous personal computer experience required.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all customers regarding billing errors and insurance problems.
Ability to multi-task and deal with frequent interruptions.
Ability to operate a ten-key and take monies.
