Position Description - Developing and fostering relationships with business partners
- Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects for the purpose of providing legal services
- Ensures business needs are being met
- Identifies, assesses and manages risk to the company
- Manages financial resources and processes
- Monitors corporate governance processes and procedures
- Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
- Provides legal advice and counsel to the company
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates
- Provides support for business transactions and projects involving legal risk.
- Supervise all aspects of complex commercial real estate transactions related to new store construction for Walmart Realty, and managing outside counsel relating to same.
- Managing transactional aspects of commercial development, and should have expertise with preparation of purchase agreements, ground leases, building leases, development agreements, easements, declarations and use restrictions and other related transactional documents.
- Managing entitlement aspects of commercial development and should have familiarity with land use/entitlement issues related to commercial property development.
- Managing environmental/hazardous materials aspects of commercial development, and should have familiarity with federal and state environmental statute.
- Manage the legal support for a portfolio of Real Estate transactions.
- Will support the new store growth of the company. Attorney will be responsible for all projects for a specific territory within one of Walmarts Business Units, and will report to a Senior Associate General Counsel for Real Estate. Attorney will work closely Real Estate Directors, and Project Managers, and will provide advice and counsel to director and officer level positions within the Company. Manage the legal support for a portfolio of Real Estate transactions
Will support the new store growth of the company
Minimum Qualifications - 5 years legal experience post-degree.
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Licence to practice law in at least one state.
Additional Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience with commercial property development in a law firm or corporate environment, detailed oriented and able to work within a cross-functional, team oriented environment Previous supervisory experience
