Position Objective

The TRP (Technical Resource Person) will act as the Supervisor for Press Operators and associates in the production area. The TRP provides assistance for troubleshooting, participates in production performance metrics and tracking, conducts training and provides feedback regarding employee performance. The TRP is the resident expert on flexographic printing, digital printing, presses, finishing and quality. The TRP will push for continuous improvement efforts, and lead sustainment. Understands the Daily Management system and how it Impacts the business.

Essential Functions

Ensures that product is printed according to specifications by communicating expectations to Press Operators and Finishers.
Provides second sign off for Press Operators with regard to Quality inspections as needed.
Communicates with Management on subjects such as production successes and issues.
Provides and analyzes data on press and delivery performance to the Management staff using the IBS (Impact Business System) tools.
Participates in Root Cause Countermeasure activities to identify areas where improvement is needed and put a plan in motion to address those areas.
Provides feedback to the Supervisor for writing and communicating performance reviews to the production staff.
Ensures all standard work is being followed by all production staff.
Conduct training on subjects such as safety, standard work,
Provide timely assistance to Press Operators for mechanical issues, raw material questions, etc.
Work closely with the Quality department regarding any nonconformities or returned product.
Participate in daily GEMBA walks and discussions, with information regarding press performance prepared.
Resolve employee relations issues with the assistance of the Management staff.
Ensure 6S scans are being conducted as well as 6S standards being followed.
Participate in Safety Committee Meetings and provide feedback regarding any safety concerns or successes.
Reviews job tickets and verifies stock, inks, and dies are available and used as specified.
Provide feedback on Kaizen events and participate as needed.

May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Nature and Scope:
This position interacts with varying levels of internal and external personnel requiring the ability to clearly communicate both verbally and written. Effectiveness in this role requires the manager to have an aptitude toward technical skills; computer skills; record keeping techniques; quality; and lean background. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Education:

Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.).
College degree in related field is preferred. Minimum of Associates Degree.
4+ years of experience in manufacturing with some supervisory experience.

Experience/Requirements:

2 year degree, preferably technical and/or industrial management.
Worked in Lean environment and led Kaizen events.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Team-oriented management >Good planning and problem solving skills with proven track record in achieving results through or with other team members.
Capable of communicating and working with people at all levels of the organization.
Ability to read and understand manufacturing performance reports.
Demonstrated innovation, creativity and decision making abilities.
Flexible in relations with others and in the management of continuous change

Working Conditions:

Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. May, on a continuous basis, stand for a long period of time and stoop and kneel frequently. May handle, feel and reach for items in and around press area, also write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting and/or move up to 50 lbs. may be required. Vision: close vision, distance and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception as well as the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer mandated deadlines. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
