EMS Academy Instructor Opportunity
In Beautiful York, PA
About the Position
Coordinates the educational activities associated with the York Hospital EMS Academy. Leads EMS Academy educational sessions in accordance with EMS Academy requirements and regulations. Supervises and guides EMS Academy Assistant Instructor participation in EMS Academy activities.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
- Responsible for the daily conduct of curriculum, syllabus, and class schedules for all EMS Academy classes.
- In conjunction with the EMS Administrative Coordinator, develops and implements plans for expanding Academy course offerings in response to regional needs.
- Conducts and/or assists with practical activities incorporated into EMS Academy programs.
- Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter associated with EMS Academy programs.
- Serves as the instructor for a minimum of 50% of class hours. The remaining 50% of the classroom and/or practical instruction may be delegated to other EMS Academy Instructors or EMS Academy Assistant Instructors.
- Develop class schedules, selects instructors, develops all training materials, and coordinates all testing and evaluations.
- Makes equipment, supplies, lesson plans and other educational materials available for EMS Academy Instructors, EMS Academy Assistant Instructors and/or guest lecturers as needed for EMS Academy activities in a timely fashion.
- Plans, prepares, develops and implements continuing education programs and/or other educational activities associated with the EMS Academy.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- EMT-P in Pennsylvania (or eligible for reciprocity)
- EMT-Instructor certification (or willing/able to obtain within 4-6 months of hire)
