Ambulatory Registration Specialist – Contact Center
About the Position
This team member will be assigned to a Call Center that performs a variety of support functions including, but not limited to, registation and scheduling, interviewing patients, telephone management, insurance/billing questions and general phone call intake.
The qualified candidate will also be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
- Conducts patient interview by telephone to collect accurate demographic and financial information for appointment.
- Answer telephones, routes caller, takes messages and profides routine information to callers.
- Registers patients in accordance with established policies and prodedures.
- Schedules patient appointments giving necessary information such as test instructions, directions, appropriate attire to wear for appointment, etc.
- Processes requests for patient information according to policies and procedures.
- Types various letters, memos, and reports as needed. Proofs materials for errors.
- Ensures patient confidentiality.
- Corresponding with clinical teams and physicians via the compurter system reguarding necessary patient information.
Qualifications
- 3 - 6 months of physician office experience preferred
- Medical Terminology preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle large volume of customer calls
