Genetic Counselor Opportunity In Beautiful York, PA
About the Position
Provides genetic counseling to high risk patients and their families.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
- In cooperation with the physician, provides genetic counseling to high risk pregnancy patients and their families.
- Investigates family history, interprets information concerning genetic disorders, explains risks to current and future pregnancies and informs patient and family of prenatal testing options.
- Performs pre-conception and pregnancy loss counseling from a genetic perspective.
- Serves as an educational resource on genetics and genetic counseling.
- Prepares and maintains documentation.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Certified by American Board of Medical Genetics
- Genetic counseling experience
- Strong communication/interpersonal skills
