Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, provides professional nursing care at an advanced practitioner level within assigned unit according to established procedures, protocols and regulations. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
OR education and training of inexperienced staff requires about 9-12 months.
Requires a 2 year commitment to our OR; Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital to accommodate future call requirements.
Required Skills
Note: Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.
Minimum Education: Associate's Degree
Minimum Experience: 2 - 3 years
Req Cert/Registration: Registration and current RN license in PA; CPR certification
Pref Cert/Registration: Certification in appropriate nursing specialty
Req Course(s)/Training: Telemetry course if assigned to patient care areas requiring telemetry monitoring
Physical Demands: Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases. Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances. Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness). Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency or crisis situations. May perform emergency care. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
