Clinical Nurse Opportunity In Beautiful York, PA
About the Position
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit according to established procedures, protocols and regulations. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
*This position may require commuting between several WellSpan locations.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patients' conditions and develops individual care plans for patients.
- Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients.
- Arranges for patients' ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.
- Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Administers and controls narcotics and medications.
- Participates in patient rounds.
- Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
- Observes emotional stability of patients, expresses interest in their progress and prepares for continuing care after discharge.
- Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of the patient's medical treatment.
- Maintains patient documentation.
