Physician Billing Representative-Physician Billing Services (FT)

Job Description
General Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties to complete the billing and payment process for numerous clients including, but not limited to, account follow up, resolving problems and interacting with third party payers and patients to achieve payment of accounts in accordance with current government and payer regulations. Represents the System in a professional manner, using good customer service practices in the performance of all duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1 Performs various functions to complete and expedite the billing process including, but not limited to, recording patient
identification data and physician diagnosis, investigating charges, correcting and updating data, preparing the claim to bill,
and updating computer functions.
2 Posts all payments and adjustments to the correct patient`s account.
3 Processes rejections and invoice corrections, and rebills in a timely manner.
4 Initiates paperwork for refunds.
5 Resolves billing problems and/or receives insurance updates.
6 Makes written and/or verbal inquiries to offices or third party payers to reconcile patient accounts.
7 Processes and distributes HCFA 1500`s and MA claim forms as required.
8 Reconciles reports at the end of the day.
Department Description:
Physician Billing Service is a multi specialty billing department that handles claim submission, payment posting, insurance follow-up and customer service calls for WellSpan Medical Group practices and independent clients.

Required Skills

- High level of speed and accuracy with data entry/ typing
Required Experience
- Qualified candidates will be a graduate of an accredited medical billing program or posses at least 1 year of on the job medical billing experience.
