Lead Housekeeping Aide Opportunity

Gettysburg Hospital

Night Shift FT (80 hours/2 weeks), 11:00 PM - 7:00AM with rotating holidays and every other weekend

General Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor-Housekeeping, oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Assists the supervisor in coordinating and scheduling housekeeping projects, and with input for performance evaluations. Instructs personnel in the use of new equipment, cleaning techniques/methods, and cleaning agents. Performs work of a similar nature such as general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1 Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature.
2 Performs routine inspections of the work of Housekeeping personnel.
3 Trains other employees in day to day procedures.
4 Assists supervisor in coordinating and scheduling housekeeping projects.
5 Instructs personnel in use of new equipment, cleaning techniques/methods, and cleaning agents.
6 Assists the supervisor with input for performance evaluations.
7 Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain offices, hallways, and other assigned areas.

Department Description:




The Housekeeping Department at Gettysburg Hospital services 76 licensed beds in various areas of the hospital such as medical/surgical units, intensive care, labor & delivery, emergency services, and operating rooms. We also provide cleanliness support to administrative offices, waiting areas, and other facilities. Our team works collaboratively to maintain a clean environment for patients, visitors and employees of WellSpan Health.

Required Experience
HS Diploma or GED

6-12 months experience

Previous supervisory experience a plus
