Position Summary:
This position supports the Youngers & Sons mission statement by engineering processes and writing programs for the development and utilization of machines, materials, and instruments to produce quality machined parts and sub-assemblies for original equipment manufacturers throughout the Midwest.
Essential Responsibilities:
Engineers the process and writes programs for the shop operations of the company.
Engineers for production flow.
Analyzes process results and implements continuous improvement.
Supports production on an ongoing basis.
Performs estimating and quoting functions.
Participates in non-conformance product review.
Reads and interprets blue prints and specifications, evaluates and specifies tooling for production, writes programs through the use of computers for various types of equipment and controls.
Documents part sequence set-up details, requirements of operators for production, engineering tooling for quick change out, engineering part process for quick change out and maximum spindle time, develops processes that require minimum deburr after machining and promote multi-machine operation of operators, considers operator safety in all process development items.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
High School education or the equivalent required.
Detailed in blue print reading and use of inspection, measuring, & test equipment.
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Ability to work without direct supervision
Intermediate computer, math, and analytical skills
Floor experience to include operating various CNC equipment
Use of Infisy and Quantum SPC software
Forklift Safety Training Certification - preferred
Occasional overtime including weekends when scheduled
Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
