Senior Tax Associate, State and Local Dept. Must have financial services experience -- i.e. hedge funds, private equity, or banking clients. Willing to hire from private industry. Head of SALT practice happens to be a great person to work for; very into mentoring and developing others and is currently at the beginnings of developing a larger financial services SALT practice. Responsibilities include tax return review and preparation; interacting closely with clients to provide planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; developing and supervising staff; and assisting in client management and practice development activities.

The SALT financial services practice in this firm is growing very rapidly and they are allowing for the opportunity to grow out of compliance and into consulting and planing. Willing to hire from private industry.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor`s in Accounting, 2-4 years of progressive State and Local Tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience, broad exposure to State and Local Tax services (inc. knowledge in State Income/Franchise Tax, Credits and Incentives, Sales and Use Tax), eager to work on variety of SALT issues and not specialize in one particular area, strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, and combined state tax returns.
