Responsibilities and Duties • Supervise credit analysts and manage the underwriting process. • Provide a structured and consistent approach to ensure that individual. development plans are in place, performance management is consistent, and coaching and feedback are provided on a regular and dynamic basis. • Review commercial loan origination criteria with respect to credit risk and present findings based on thorough analysis. • Ensure strong internal controls and quality assurance policies and procedures are in place, documented and adhered to at all times. • Assist in formulating and maintaining an effective credit policy, procedures, and practices to maintain the commercial lending portfolio’s quality and profitability. • Responsible for management of third-party partner relationships to ensure optimum customer service, quality, accuracy and responsiveness. • Assist with projects which affect credit union wide commercial lending and sales efforts as well as implementation of necessary changes or revisions to commercial lending product. • Monitor processing of approved loans through closing including engagement, tracking and review of third party reports (appraisals, environmental assessments, property conditions reports, title commitments, surveys, etc.) • Supervise loan documentation production via outside counsel or vendors

Our client will consider loans in all asset classes of investor real estate, provided that the owners and properties meet other rigorous underwriting criteria. Its preferred loan size is in the $10M range. The first addition to this team is now a Manager Commercial Lending Credit Administration.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field and ten years or more of credit experience in a banking, credit union, CMBS or institutional lending environment with strong emphasis in commercial lending and commercial real estate. Formal credit training required. MBA or CPA a plus. Thorough knowledge of credit analysis, lending, and loan and appraisal review. Ability to gather, analyze and compile financial data required to provide management reporting related to credit risk. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational, collaborative and consultative skills. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Performance management skills required; must have the ability to lead a team through effective management skills including coaching, development, talent retention and recruitment. Advanced computer skills utilizing MS Office Suite of products and financial statement spread software (Moodys Risk Analyst). Proficiency in mortgage servicing software a plus.
