Occupational Therapist
Job Location: Morganton, NC
JOB SUMMARY:
As part of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, the Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct, consultation and educational services. Plans, implements and evaluates patient care in collaboration with the patient, physician, and other health care team members or inpatients, outpatients, long-term care and home care. The OT must instruct and direct educational programs in patient, family, hospital and community groups, be proficient using related equipment and procedures. The OT supervises certified occupational therapy assistants, students and volunteers. Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapy Program with Program Certification by the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Experience:
No experience required
License/Registration:
Must possess a current valid license in the state of NC.
Other:
Must possess a thorough knowledge of musculoskeletal, neurological and orthopedic disorders, how to evaluate and develop appropriate treatment plans, and departmental policies and procedures, ability to perform complex tasks and supervise others in performance of activities. Ability to apply principles of life span growth to assess and interpret patient status and provide age appropriate care based on the patient's special needs.
