Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Knowledge Modeler.
Responsibilities
Develop innovative and feasible solutions for enterprise information exchange challenges with concentration on knowledge representation and inter- and intra-organizational integration of data models.Develop, evaluate and recommend solutions for enterprise information exchange challenges. Assist in the assessment of knowledge representation technologies and modeling standards as they apply to information exchange architecture. Develop and harmonize business domain knowledge representations and data models.Design and implement "proof-of-concept" prototypes of tools for architecting information exchanges and other knowledge management activities .
Qualifications
Required:
B. S. in Computer Science or related field with 3-7 years of experience. Demonstrated experience in data modeling and knowledge representation techniques, including the Unified Modeling Language. Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a technical development team.Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to acquire, a security clearance at the Top Secret level.
Desired:
Familiarity with other knowledge representation formats, including XML Schema, and with information exchange technologies, including experience in developing software for Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments.
Special Work Conditions
May be required to work off site in sponsor facilities. Local and limited non-local travel for meetings and field support at sponsor locations and military facilities.
