Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Systems Engineer.

Responsibilities
Lead the systems engineering for APL's Cyber Measurement and Analysis Center throughout the program lifecycle via rigorous integrated systems engineering practices and processes while analyzing architectures and system designs, achieving results that enable the sponsor to realize their vision for National Cyber Range. Plan and coordinate the systems engineering activities of the project by implementing systems engineering methodologies and IT industry best practices - Develop need assessments, requirements and architecture, CONOPS, functional analyses, and analysis of alternatives. Develop Systems Engineering Master Plan and guide system concept development, requirements, design, integration and test & evaluation activities. Work with Principle Investigators, project managers, system control designeres, network designers, repository deveolpers and facility developers to steer the design of network - produce actionable engineering strategies that account for existing technical constraints, programmatic considerations, and other practical realities. Conduct risk, safety, and technology readiness assessments.
Qualifications

Required:
MS or equivalent degree in systems or related fields. At least 10 years of professional systems engineering experience and relevant experience in IA, IT or networking. Demonstrated thought leadership in developing breakthrough solutions to challenging technical problems. Good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work as a member of a multi-organization technical team.

Desired:
Ph.D. in EE, CS, or related field. 15+ years of systems engineering experience and 5+ years experience in IA. Leadership capacity in driving improvements to architectures and systems. Significant exposure to US Government work.

Special Work Conditions
Needs the ability to travel locally and across the country to meetings and site evaluations.

Security
