Koch Pipeline Company, L.P., as an owner, operator and investor, plays a key role in the American pipeline system that delivers energy that fuels society. Koch Pipeline owns or operates about 4,000 miles of pipeline that transport crude oil, natural gas liquids, and refined products. Position Summary:
* Primary responsibility:
Keep Pipeline Remote Operations System (SCADA) and Data Historian (PI) systems running at 100% availability while making value added improvements and ensuring that regulatory requirements are met .
* Additional responsibility:
Perform pipeline hydraulic simulation activities on an as-needed basis.
Expectations:
* Maintain proprietary SCADA and PI system performance at the highest possible level without any unexpected system downtime.
* Create new ways of adding value through an understanding of our business, our user's needs, our Vendor's capabilities, what peer companies are doing, and where the industry is heading.
* Understand pertinent compliance requirements.
* Timely response to after hours (on-call) support needs. On-call duty rotation (1 week in 4)
* Modify the SCADA and PI systems on a real-time basis to meet changes in operational requirements.
* Hydraulic Simulation (as needed):
Perform hydraulic analysis of pipeline systems and report results.
Required:
* Computer Science or engineering degree from a 4 year institution or equivalent degree. Will consider industry experience in lieu of a degree.
* Computer and database skills.
* Analytical - ability to learn and solve complex problems in a business environment.
* Interpersonal / Collaboration - ability to work in a diverse team environment with corporate and field personnel.
* Vision - ability to develop and design software applications.
* Verbal - ability to communicate with peers and management on key mission critical issues.
* Attention to detail.
* Some travel to the field may be required.
* Must be able to work on call emergency response support on a rotating schedule (1 week in 4). While on call you must stay within 30 minutes of Wichita.
Preferred:
* Experience with Windows Servers, SQL and VB.Net (Visual Basic
* Experience with Telvent OASyS DNA SCADA System
* Experience with OSIsoft PI Data Historian
* Experience within the oil and gas industry
