Environmental Compliance Analyst
Job Location: Wichita, KS
Koch Nitrogen Company and its affiliates own and invest
in nitrogen fertilizer production and storage capacity
in North America, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The
company's fertilizer interests manufacture, market and
distribute more than 6 million metric tons of nitrogen
products annually. Koch Nitrogen Company owns and
operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and
Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea.
These plants provide fertilizer to customers in
Oklahoma, Kansas and the Midwest. Combined, Koch
Nitrogen's fertilizer interests can produce about 6
million metric tons of nitrogen fertilizer annually.
We are seeking an Environmental Compliance Analyst to
join our team and provide technical based support and
assistance to the Environmental Manager in a variety of
functions. This is a key position that will allow for
growth and challenges in the environmental compliance
industry. We are looking for a candidate who is
passionate about environmental compliance; a candidate
who wants to be a part of a team that is focused on
meaningful objectives. In this role you will:
• Provide day to day technical support to our
Midwestern Ammonia Terminals regarding environmental
issues; Terminal locations include MN, NE, KS, IL, IA,
IN, TX and LA
• Research emerging environmental regulatory issues
and understand how it would impact our business
• Develop and improve existing environmental
compliance tools and programs
• Data gathering and assessment for periodic report
submittals
• Collaborate in the development of compliance
management systems tools
• Manage the reporting and production management
scorecards/metrics
• Perform periodic field audits and training
• Interact with agencies, vendors and terminal
employees
• Promote understanding of environemntal compliance
with federal, state and local regulatory mandates
• BS degree in an Engineering or Science discipline
such as Environmental Engineering, Science, Geology,
Chemistry or Biology
• 2 -3 minimum years of experience in environmental
compliance experience
• Previous experience within a chemical environment
(highly desired)
• Knowledgeable in Air Permitting, Waste Water and
Waste program requirements
• Excellent analytical and economic thinking
skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel and
Power Point)
• Some travel to terminal locations
• Highly motivated, customer focused and work
well in a team environment
• Technical investigations and /or project
management experience (preferred)
• Proficiency with EPA and state
environmental regulations (preferred)
