Research Analyst
Job Location: Wichita, KS

The position will provide analytical and research
support for the KII Pension and Investments team.
Specifically, the primary function of the role will
include the following:
* Research, collect and back-test historical market
and economic data to aid in development of
‘mental models’ for asset allocation and
point of view decisions for the Pension team.
* Provide market and economic reports and updates on a
consistent basis, as well as event driven updates
when appropriate.
* Development and support of tools to aid in risk
analysis of the Pension Plans.
* Aid in development of performance monitoring tools.
* Data mining and the use of statistics to aid in
explaining financial and economic behavior for asset
allocation decisions.
* Stay up-to-date with current financial market events
and consider how these events might impact the
investments and exposures in the Pension Plan.
* Provide updates of economic data on a consistent
basis to provide insight on POV development.
* Analysis of Pension Manager and Plan level
characteristics. This is to include (but not limited
to): attribution and risk analysis, asset class
correlations and exposures.
* Perform specific requested analysis and actively
seek out projects where you can add the most value.
* Develop an understanding of the KII Pension
reporting process to serve as a back-up and aid in
development of new reporting tools, as needed.
* Provide sufficient challenges and objectivity to
maintain an unbiased approach to seek the truth on
key bets and assumptions.
* Achievement of 100% compliance is imperative. Assume
personal responsibility for knowledge of, and
compliance with, all applicable laws, regulations,
and industry standards.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and
PowerPoint
* 1-3 years of professional experience.
* Strong analytical and statistical background.
* Strong written and verbal communications skills.
* Ability to critically think and challenge the status
quo.
* Must be a team player.
* Have a strong desire to learn.
Experience Preferred:
* Financial modeling and statistical data analysis.
* Experience with global financial markets and
economies.
Education Required:
* Bachelor’s degree
Education Preferred:
* Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting,
Engineering, Statistics, Math or Economics.
* MBA or Masters with concentration in Finance.
