Environmental Manager
Job Location: Port Arthur, TX
Koch Pipeline Company, L.P., as an owner, operator and
investor, plays a key role in the American pipeline
system that delivers energy that fuels society. Koch
Pipeline owns or operates about 4,000 miles of pipeline
that transport crude oil, natural gas liquids, and
refined products. Koch Pipeline entities also operate
storage and distribution terminals in North America, and
have an investment in the Trans Alaska Pipeline System.

As the Port Arthur, TX Environmental Manager, you will
have the following responsibilities and expectations:
* Lead the overall environmental capability for the
East Texas Chemicals Group
* Develop, implement and manage environmental
management systems required to ensure full
compliance with local, state, federal regulations as
well as KPL Standards and Guidelines
* Oversee preparation of all project related
environmental; permitting, agency reports and
certifications
* Identify potential environmental liabilities during
the engineering design phase and develop strategies
for eliminating and/or minimizing the impact of the
liabilities
* Oversee environmental governmental reports relating
to water discharge, hazardous waste, air emissions,
Tier II and trench dewatering and ensure they are
completed accurately, reviewed thoroughly and
submitted on time
* Oversee the development, implementation and revision
of SPCC Plans
* Perform periodic self assessments to verify field
compliance and system effectiveness
* Develop, implement and train on environmental
compliance topics to ensure compliance and knowledge
transfer
* Lead tap root investigations on pipeline
environmental releases
* Assist in the development and implementation of
emergency response procedures and plans
* Work closely with the Northern/Southern Operating
Groups to ensure program consistency across KPL
* 7-10 years experience in managing environmental
compliance
* Proven ability to manage environmental
consultants
* Demonstrated success in accurately documenting
regulatory applicability determinations
* Hands on experience in preparing permits and site
assessments
* Hands on experience in verifying waste/process
streams, understanding mitigation and control
devices, performing monitoring and related
calculations
* Experience in environmental remediation
* Experience in setting environmental KPI's and
measuring performance against those KPI's
* Strong leadership and organizational skills with
strong attention to detail
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects at once
* Strong computer based skills (MS Office
applications)
* BS Degree in Environmental Engineering/Management
or Environmental Science or Civil
Engineering
Preferred:
* Experience in the pipeline industry
* RMP experience preferred.
* MS Degree in Environmental Engineering/Management,
Environmental Science, Civil Engineering
Other Considerations:
* Ability to climb steps, ladders, or tanks
* Ability to wear flame retardant clothing (i.e.
Nomex) when required
* Ability to wear required PPE while working,
including at minimum. a hard hat, safety glasses and
heeled work boots
* Position requires the ability to wear respirator and
to pass a respirator fit test
* Position requires a valid driver's license
* Must be able to respond to calls 24/7 for emergency
response
