Pipeline Operator-Wallisville

Job Location: Wallisville, TX

Koch Pipeline Company, L.P., as an owner, operator and investor, plays a key role in the American pipeline system that delivers energy that fuels society. Koch Pipeline owns or operates about 4,000 miles of pipeline that transport crude oil, natural gas liquids, and refined products. Koch Pipeline entities also operate storage and distribution terminals in North America, and have an investment in the Trans Alaska Pipeline System. A successful candidate for this role will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations & general maintenance of pipeline & station assets, which includes but is not limited to maintenance of valves, pumps, piping & tanks. Daily tasks include but are not limited to pipeline locates, excavation oversight, facility station checks, maintenance of equipment, general troubleshooting and responding to customer needs. Pipeline Operators will be required to accurately document operational activities which will require computer work, including word processing, spreadsheets, work orders and electronic communication. Responsible for product quality assurance, including gathering samples and processing results, gauging tanks, meter proving, sample witnessing, monitoring inbound/outbound pipeline shipments, over and short reports and documentation. Compliance responsibilities include performing regulatory procedures, equipment inspections and accurate procedural documentation. Must understand and comply with all Federal, State and Company regulations and Koch Pipeline Company LP policies, guidelines, and procedures. Responsible for meeting the performance and training requirements as set forth by Koch Pipeline Company LP. All employees are expected to be proactive in the safety & environmental programs. Candidate must be highly motivated, require minimum direct supervision and have the ability to prioritize.
Education, Skills and Experience Required: ------------------------------------------------------- Minimum 6 months experience operating/repairing industrial mechanical equipment including but not limited to valves and positive displacement or centrifugal pumps.  Minimum 6 months experience working with 120 Volts AC up to 480 Volts AC - 3 Phase. Computer knowledge - specifically the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and proprietary databases.  Communications and organizational skills Valid Driver's license 2 year Technical (mechanical/electrical) degree or equivalent relevant military or field work experience. Education, Skills and Experience Preferred: ------------------------------------------------------- Minimum 12 months liquid pipeline field technician experience in the petroleum or chemical industry. Minimum 6 months experience with Management of Change documentation.  Minimum 6 months Instrumentation/Electrical experience including knowledge and skills to work on all types of electrical and electronic equipment including but not limited to motors, valves, actuators, meters, transmitters, flow computers and programmable (PLC) controllers.  Minimum 6 months experience locating underground pipelines. Minimum 6 months experience with liquid volume measurements. 4 year Technical (Industrial Mechanical) degree  Essential Physical Demands or Unusual Working Conditions: ------------------------------------------------------- Must be able to wear PPE in designated areas (Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, fire retardant clothing, heeled safety toed boots, etc.). Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs on a frequent basis. Must be able to work in hot, cold or inclement climate conditions (outdoor conditions). Up to 25% travel required, including overnight travel. Must be able to respond to calls 24/7 for emergency response. Must be able to be in a rotational on-call status. Ability to climb and gauge storage tanks greater than 40' in height is required. Walking and climbing of ladders or stairs is required Must be able to work overtime as needed. Must possess a valid driver's license.  Must have the ability to respond within 30 minutes of assets. Must be able to wear a respirator and to pass a respirator fit test.
