Coordinator, Product Movement
Job Location: Bel Aire, KS
Koch Pipeline Company, L.P., as an owner, operator and
investor, plays a key role in the American pipeline
system that delivers energy that fuels society. Koch
Pipeline owns or operates about 4,000 miles of pipeline
that transport crude oil, natural gas liquids, and
refined products. Koch Pipeline entities also operate
storage and distribution terminals in North America, and
have an investment in the Trans Alaska Pipeline System.
Koch Pipeline Company employees are focused on becoming
the operator of choice in the communities in which they
operate.
* The Pipeline Contoller (PC) is responsible for the
continuous monitoring of information supplied by the
SCADA system to ensure safe pipeline operations.
* The PC is required to recognize abnormal and
emergency situations and respond according to
company policies and procedures.
* In addition, the PC is responsible for moving the
product as proposed by the Scheduler, selecting the
most efficient and safe combination of assets
available.
* Responsibilities include, starting and stopping
pumps, opening and closing remote valve, responding
to alarms, monitoring pressures, setting
pressure-controlling devices, monitoring the
progress batches in the pipeline, directing the flow
of product into the specified locations and
documenting all pertinent information.
* Also included in the responsibilities is monitoring
and responding to the leak detection methods, which
include moitoring pressures, temperatures, flow
rates and other information provided by the
Operating System.
* 2+ years of previous hydraulic & mechanical work
experience
* Must posses strong written and verbal communication
skills
* Demonstrated ability to work in an unsupervised
environment
* Strong computer skills, including ability to use
Microsoft Office products.
* Solid analytical and mathematical skills Ability to
handle and prioritize multiple tasks
* Critical thinking skills, ability to analyze
information and respond to that information in a
timely manner
* Work experience in customer service
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred:
* 2-3 years pipeline product movement experience or
pipeline field operation experience.
* College or Technical Degree
Other Considerations:
* Must be able to be on rotational on-call status
* Must be willing to have flexible schedule
* Required to work a 12 hour rotating shift, including
holidays, weekends and evening / midnight shifts.
* Ability to differentiate various colors
* Must have the ability to respond to emergency
situations
