Reliability Engineer
Job Location: Bel Aire, KS
Koch Pipeline Company, L.P., as an owner, operator and
investor, plays a key role in the American pipeline
system that delivers energy that fuels society. Koch
Pipeline owns or operates about 4,000 miles of pipeline
that transport crude oil, natural gas liquids, and
refined products. Koch Pipeline entities also operate
storage and distribution terminals in North America, and
have an investment in the Trans Alaska Pipeline System.

Successful candidate will complete work on Mechanical
& Electrical Reliability Improvement Program
(MERIP), then transition the MERIP program into an
ongoing Reliability Program.
Candidate will be responsible for reliability and
maintenance support of mechanical and
electrical/instrumentation equipment. This role will
work closely with engineers, maintenance personnel and
operators to improve equipment reliability within the
company. Specific responsibilities will include:
* Gathering and examining reliability data from field
studies and databases, analyzing data to determine
units posing failure risks and or determining path
forward to improve equipment reliability
* Analyzing the impact and costs of recommended
action plans for avoiding/correcting problems during
the design phase or remedial action for correcting
downtime issues on installed equipment
* Managing the Mechanical, Electrical &
Instrumentation Integrity Assessment Program for the
company.
* Implementing and tracking reliability key
performance indicators.
* Developing and implementing key reliability
strategies and assisting with establishing good
maintenance practices.
* Ensuring that all maintenance/reliability
documentation is complete and accurate (Maintenance
and Repair Procedures, Design Specifications,
Maintenance Data) and facilitating teams of
appropriate maintenance personnel to create new
documentation, if required.
* Reviewing engineering specifications and drawings,
proposing design modifications to improve
reliability within cost and other performance
requirements.
* Working with the KPL Leak Prevention team to
identify and solve problems around station
integrity.
* Minimum 6 months engineering experience. Knowledge
and skills related to Equipment Reliability and
Maintenance.
* Bachelor of Science - Engineering
* Computer experience, specifically the ability to use
Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and proprietary
databases.
* Good critical and economic thinking skills
* Good problem solving skills
* Strong organization, analysis and computer skills
* Commitment to Safety, Environmental Compliance and
Equipment Reliability
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels
of employees
Preferred:
* Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering
* 6 months engineering experience in Reliability
related aspects.
* Experience with Failure Modes & Effects
Analysis, Root Cause Analysis or other problem
solving root cause failure analysis techniques
* Experience with Maximo or other Work Management
System
* Maintenance and reliability background or training
* Proven leadership skills
* 1+ years experience in pipeline, petro-chemical
plant or refinery mechanical maintenance environment
Physical Demands or Unusual Working Conditions:
* Ability to work outside in hot or cold climate
conditions
* Ability to climb steps, ladders, or tanks
* Ability to wear flame retardant clothing (i.e.
Nomex) when required
* Ability to wear required PPE while working,
including at minimum a hard hat, safety glasses and
heeled, safety toed work boots
* Position requires a valid driver's license
