Environmental Engineer
Job Location: Longview, TX

Responsible for coordinating, developing, administering,
and assisting the leadership team in implementing the
plant's environmental policies and procedures to ensure
compliance with corporate standards as well as local,
state, and federal regulations.
1. Understands and follows all EH&S Policies and
Procedures and the role related to compliance for the
site
2. Provide back-up to the EHS Manager during absences
3. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal
regulations and guidelines
4. Ensure compliance with corporate standards
5. Oversee the coordination and implementation of the
day to day environmental needs of the plant
6. Coordinate all facility air permits, waste
generation, and disposal, storm water permits
7. Perform reviews of new regulations to ensure
continued compliance
8. Provide technical assistance for new project work and
for present equipment to ensure standard compliance.
(This may include ordering and expediting materials,
equipment, certificates, permits, and licenses)
9. Work with Human Resources to develop and implement
employee environmental training programs
10. Maintain a working relationship with appropriate
environmental groups and regulatory agencies at the
local, state, and federal levels
11. Participate in the plant's Environmental, Health and
Safety activities and processes
12. Participate in the plant's Community Outreach
initiatives
13. Maintain departmental procedures and other documents
necessary to ensure the quality operation of the
department(s)
14. Ability to work independently and to priortize work
assignments
15. Must be able to handle conflict situations with tact
and civility
16. Requires strong communication skills
17. Must have strong problem solving skills
18. Must have the ability of forward thinking and
understand how the position fits within the goals of the
plant and corporation
19. Subject to 24 hour call
20. Assure compliance with all FHR Cardinal Rules, DOT,
OSHA, MSDS, and SOP's
21. Follow-up with other departments to ensure that
service standards are being met
22. Maintain a professional attitude among co-workers
and visitors to the facility
23. Minimum travel as necessary
24. Other duties as assigned
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
3-5 years of varied environmental experience in the
petrochemical or plastic industry Technical writing and
communication skills Demonstrate ability to work with
people
EDUCATION REQUIRED
BS Degree in Chemical Engineering/Environmental
Engineering
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
Must be able to take 24/7 on-call
