Plant Operator - Ft. Dodge
Job Location: Duncombe, IA
Koch Nitrogen Company and its affiliates own and invest
in nitrogen fertilizer production and storage capacity
in North America, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The
company's fertilizer interests manufacture, market and
distribute more than 6 million metric tons of nitrogen
products annually. Koch Nitrogen Company owns and
operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and
Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea.
These plants provide fertilizer to customers in
Oklahoma, Kansas and the Midwest. Combined, Koch
Nitrogen's fertilizer interests can produce about 6
million metric tons of nitrogen fertilizer annually.
Koch Nitrogen Company is seeking a motivated and self
driven Plant Operator for our Ft. Dodge facility. The
successful candidate will have the following
responsibilities:
• Operate Board controls
• Ensure instrument readings are taken timely and
accurately (monitoring pressures and temperatures)
• Perform reliability procedures, sample
collections and daily inspections of equipment
• Provide technical support in day to day
operations of the plant to produce, store and transfer
the product in a safe environment
• Operate water treatment system equipment, pumps,
motors, control valves, piping, filtration equipment,
etc.
• Complete permit forms and various other
inspection reports
• Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to
safety and environmental policies
• Must be able to work in a team environment and
the flexibility to perform a variety of duties
• Good communication skills (verbal &
written)
• Familiarity with computers to allow data input
and self directed computer based training
• Requires heavy lifting (50lbs) as well as
climbing ladders and stairs
• Must be able to pass a pulmonary breathing test,
wear a gas mask respirator and full Level A Personal
Protective Equipment
• Must be able to work in and outdoors as needed
(50% outdoors)
• Rotating shift work (4 days on / 4 days
off)
• H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred
• Previous ammonia or chemical plant operations
experience
• Familiarity with DCS or SCADA controls
• Experience with water treatment, boiler
operations and mechanical repair
• Technical School training (Industrial plant
operations)
