Production Technician
Job Location: Channahon, IL

* Support the Production Team by flawlessly performing
field and console operational duties
* Perform operational duties as required to optimize
unit performance including timely process
adjustments, sampling, process monitoring, etc. as
needed by the Team Leader
* Understand and successfully execute Safe Work
Practices (Energy Control, Blinding, Safe Work
Permitting, etc.)
* Understand and execute the Maintenance Work Flow
* Process including work request entry and risk
ranking, and assisting the Production Team in the
development of the unit Work Schedule
* Perform PM, monitoring and incidental maintenance
activities as required (as dictated by log sheet and
round sheet tools and routine duties calendars)
* Review, improve and develop procedures (Startup,
Shutdown, Maintenance, Operating, etc. ) as required
to ensure safe and compliant operations
* Appropriately respond to call-outs
* Ensure equipment repair preparation and post-work
commissioning is performed following current
policies and procedures
* Identify, address and capture opportunities for
reliability improvement, cost and waste reduction as
per appropriate business processes
* Understand critical equipment and economics of area
to improve decision-making
* Accountable for decisions made pertaining to outside
operations and process control computer operation
* Assist in development of plans for turnarounds,
shutdowns, and special events
* Continually improve knowledge of area and equipment,
and make continued progress toward fully rotational
status in assigned area
* Maintain earned certifications by keeping up-to-date
on MOC training
* Perform Safe Work Permit process with excellence
* Perform continuous surveillance and condition
monitoring of equipment in assigned area(s)
(eg. audio/visual monitoring for fugitive
emissions/LDAR)
* Must demonstrate basic communication skills (verbal
and written), math skills (including the use of
equations), and problem-solving and troubleshooting
skills
* Strong safety and environmental awareness
* Petrochem Process Tech Program Certification OR 1+
years experience in petrochemical facility as of
5/5/08 OR 3+ years processing plant experience OR 1+
years industrial firefighting in a petrochemical
facility
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Preferred Experience: 3+ years experience as a
Production Technician (Operator) in a petrochemical
(or equivalent) facility.
