Position Summary
Koch Nitrogen Company is seeking a motivated and self driven Operations Technician to join our team in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The successful candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance tasks at the Crawfordsville, Indiana and Walton, Indiana ammonia terminals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Environmental, Safety and regulatory agency compliance
- Product accounting
- Customer interaction
- Responding to emergencies and callouts
- Cost control
- Preventative maintenance
- Reliability improvements
Requirements
- Must be able to wear respirator, self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and Level A chemical suit
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work on platforms up to 80’ above grade, and lift up to 50 pounds
- 1+ year experience working with chemical handling and storage equipment or equivalent skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Available to be on call and work overtime as needed
- Must be able to comply with safety and environmental regulations
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers, customers, peers, public and government agencies (verbal & written communication)
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to perform basic maintenance activities
- Must have valid drivers license
- Must be able to support operations and maintenance activities at other Koch terminals as needed
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred
- 3+ years experience working with ammonia handling and storage equipment or equivalent skills
- Skilled trades experience in Millwright, HVAC, instrumentation or electrical
- Possess a strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations associated with a PSM covered facility
- College, technical degree, or equivalent work experience
