Currently, Flint Hills Resources' Legal Department is seeking a Legal Secretary.
The Legal Department is responsible for achieving superior legal results for Flint Hills Resources, LP's businesses. We work on all of the company's legal matters, including lawsuits and arbitrations, environmental issues, safety regulations, contracts, government investigations, interpretation of state, federal and local laws, and intellectual property. We are located in Wichita, KS, and we support operations in Alaska, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin and Canada. As a Legal Secretary, you will be instrumental in providing support for FHR's team of Attorneys. You will be responsible for many administrative duties including:
• Dictation
• Correspondence
• Mail and email management
• Management of calendars in Microsoft Outlook
• Booking travel arrangements
• Filing, copying, faxing
• Telephone service
You will also provide Accounting support including:
• Invoice Processing
• Review of VISA Purchasing card statements
• Verification and coding of charges
• Obtaining proper approvals and processing payments
• CARS entry
• Preparation of expense reports
It is imperative that these duties be performed timely and accurately. The Legal Secretary will also:
• Create files and archives for original agreements and contracts
• Provide assistance with the Time Control program to attorneys
• Act as the contract administrator
• Seek knowledge and understanding of laws, especially those most applicable to the role including but not limited to: Government interaction, Securities trading, EH&S Non-Operations Employees, Records Management, Intellectual Property/Copyrights, Ethics, Political Contributions, Export Controls, and Customs
Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in a professional office environment
• Strong organization skills
• Strong Multi-tasking capability
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft products such as Word and Excel
• Attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload
• Strong phone etiquette skills
• Professional demeanor
• Ability to handle confidential subject matter with the utmost discretion
Work Experience/Skills Preferred:
• Previous experience supporting an attorney or legal team is preferred
Education Required:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Education Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred
• Certification as a Legal Secretary or Paralegal is preferred, but not required
