"Director, adCenter Bidded Marketplace Analytics (BMA)"

"The Advertiser & Publisher Solutions (APS) business unit is leading Microsoft?s big bet on building the monetization engine for Microsoft online services and 3rd party publisher online services. As part of the APS business unit, the Advertising Platform Product Management team is responsible for defining the business strategy and product roadmap that will make position the advertising platform as one of the premier online advertising platform in what is expected to be an $80B market by 2010.

The adCenter Marketplace is at the core of the Advertiser Platform. To grow this marketplace, the Advertising Platform Product Management team is building a Bidded Marketplace Analytics (BMA) practice to inform its long-term strategy and deliver day-to-day, operational insight on the adCenter Marketplace to all groups driving monetization improvements. As the Director of the BMA team you get to build the team from the ground up.

In this role, which requires large doses of business analysis, statistics, evangelism and strategy, you will be responsible for ensuring the BMA delivers high quality, timely analysis and collaborate across the product management, marketing, services, sales and engineering teams to distill real business insights from the data. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Analysis Agenda: You will create value for multiple stakeholders, prioritize and balance short vs. long-term goals. There are infinite opportunities for analysis. In addition to coming up with analysis candidates, your job will be to assess the potential value and feasibility of all the ideas and prioritize those that are likely to have the greatest positive impact.

2. Team Management: Recruit, manage and motivate a team a team of extremely talented analysts. In this role you will need to be able to lead advanced thinkers with highly specialized knowledge in math and economics. Your challenge will be to channel their brain power into analyses that are practical and deliver business impact.

3. Deliver Automated Outputs: The BMA?s success will be based in large part on its ability to create analysis that can be re-run in an automated fashion. Driving to create scalable analyses that the rest of the organization can consume on demand is a key responsibility.

4. Educating and Evangelizing: You will work across multiple teams to ensure awareness, understanding and use of the BMA?s outputs.

5. Track Value Delivered: You will assess the impact of the BMA outputs on the adCenter marketplace as they are put to use by the engineering, marketing and services teams. As the BMA leader, you will also develop and drive team business rhythm, including providing reporting on team?s business intelligence outputs and performance against milestones to key partners and senior leaders.

Desired skills and qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of business management/strategy experience
- Demonstrated experience managing teams of business analysts or statisticians, and translating analysis into insights
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated experience managing high performing teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Online advertising experience and clear understanding of marketplace economics of search preferred
- Masters or better in Statistics / Economics preferred, MBA is a bonus "
