"Background- Corporate Development professionals focus on corporate services and investment banking activities which include strategic M&A planning and deal execution. When a client company seeks non-organic growth, corporate development evaluates target companies. These target acquisitions are executed by corporate development with the assistance of operations groups. The Mergers and Acquisitions Team is part of the Corporate Development Business Unit and is the core of a select group of direct corporate staff of the unit Managing Director. Corporate Development activities focus in major financial centers and client sites providing Financial Services, Securities Services, Data Room and Deal Room Services, Risk Management, and Private Equity Services, Due Diligence, Agreements, Divestitures, and Restructuring Services. The Mergers and Acquisitions Team develops strategy, directs strategic agenda, executes strategy and monitors results. The tasks vary widely, consequently, a range of competences and specialties are required (business development, legal, risk management, financial, IT, operations, HR, tax, treasury, insurance, audit), allowing a wide range of activities to be covered.
Job description- As Director, Corporate Development & Mergers & Acquisitions you drive the Corporate Development Business Unit in a wide range of M&A and Corporate Development tasks. Primary responsibilities involve leading and supporting the effort of identifying new opportunities and executing related acquisition, investment, creative venture, strategic alliance and similar transactions, working with your team and with Corporate Development Managing Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS 7-9 years progressive work experience from a top tier financial entity, investment bank, private equity or venture capital firm; Financial, M&A, and investment banking background required; demonstrable entrepreneurial and leadership skills, and 5-7 years business development experience; overall at least 8 years experience in a management role; MBA degree or CPA qualification required; Bachelor?s Degree from a four year University required, technical degree preferred; willingness to travel as required including frequent regional and periodic global travel; extensive Corporate Development and/or M&A client list or database, with client portability; transportation; laptop; cell phone; internet access. "
