SUMMARY:
Performs medical evaluations to determine fitness for duty. Evaluates, treats and makes appropriate specialty referrals for work-related illnesses and injuries. Performs Medical Review Officer (MRO) function in support of employer and regulatory agency mandated employee drug testing programs. Provides consultation, including on-site investigation, to assist employers in mitigating workplace health and safety hazards. Responds promptly to employer requests for information or guidance on fitness for duty or Workers' Compensation Cases. Participates in department quality assurance activities. Participates in development of new services as required by Department Management. Complies with all recordkeeping and documentation required by law or hospital/department policy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
M.D. or D.O. degree required. Meet credentialing requirements to obtain staff privileges. Board Certified or Board Eligible for Preventive Medicine in Occupational And Environmental Medicine.
